Same business. Same words. One page was written from scratch by an AI app builder. The other is a designer's template that took the words.

The reveal

A pilates studio. A is Lovable, B is DontCode.

  • DontCode: 59 seconds, 48 credits (about 10 cents)
  • Lovable: 1 minute 53 seconds, 1.2 credits (about 30 cents)

A designer's portfolio. A is DontCode, B is Bolt.

  • DontCode: 1 minute 21 seconds, 110 credits (about 22 cents)
  • Bolt: 4 minutes 4 seconds, 101,000 tokens (about 25 cents)

A neighborhood bakery. A is v0, B is DontCode.

  • DontCode: 1 minute 13 seconds, 53 credits (about 11 cents)
  • v0: 3 minutes 31 seconds, $1.22 of credits

Whichever page you picked, DontCode's went live in a third to half the time, for 10 to 22 cents of credits. A template leaves the AI less to write: the design is already made, so it writes the words, not the page. How that works

How we ran it

We made all six pages on October 29, 2026, in English. Lovable, Bolt and v0 each ran on a new account's free plan, and each page fit in that plan's free credits.

  • DontCode: a new project from a template (차분 for the studio, Canvas for the designer, 밥때 for the bakery), described in the create chat, and its first build exactly as it came out. 차분 and 밥때 are free templates. Canvas is a paid one, 10,000 credits ($20 on the Starter plan), and that price is not in the numbers above.
  • Lovable, Bolt and v0: one prompt each, with the business and its words from the DontCode page (the design's decorative labels left out), default settings, and the first result with no follow-up. The bakery's DontCode page says "Menu coming soon" because the 밥때 template has no menu items to copy yet, so v0 got those same words.
  • Time runs from sending the prompt to a live page. On Lovable, Bolt and v0 that is the first finished preview plus the time publishing took, without the pause before we pressed Publish; DontCode puts its first build live by itself. The studio's DontCode build waited 31 seconds behind the bakery's, made on the same account four seconds earlier, and its 59 seconds leave that wait out. Paid DontCode plans also run checks on a build; a free account has none, so they are not timed.
  • Cost is what each builder's own meter showed for that one prompt, in dollars at its cheapest paid plan: Lovable Pro is $25 for 100 credits, Bolt Pro $25 for 10 million tokens, v0's credits are dollars, and DontCode Starter is $20 for 10,000 credits. DontCode's credits were charged to our own account; on a new account, the first landing page's build is free.
  • The designer's second project on DontCode is an empty frame: no picture in our library matched it.
  • Every page is shown full length at 1280 pixels wide, with the badge that names its builder hidden.
