DontCode credit purchase, subscription, and refund terms

Overview

DontCode sells two paid products: prepaid credits used to run AI code generation and related platform services, and recurring subscription plans that include monthly credits and additional platform features. This page explains when and how refunds and cancellations are available for each, in accordance with the Korean Electronic Commerce Act (μ „μžμƒκ±°λž˜ λ“±μ—μ„œμ˜ μ†ŒλΉ„μžλ³΄ν˜Έμ— κ΄€ν•œ 법λ₯ ) and Toss Payments / PortOne merchant terms.

1. Refund Eligibility

Unused Credits

Purchased credits that have not been used may be refunded in full within 7 days of purchase, in accordance with Article 17 of the Electronic Commerce Act.

Partially Used Credits

If you have used part of the purchased credit balance, the refundable amount is the unused portion, calculated at the original purchase unit price (KRW per credit). Consumed credits are non-refundable as the corresponding AI computation and services have already been rendered.

Subscription Cooling-Off (7 Days)

Within 7 days of starting a paid subscription, if none of the subscription's included credits have been spent and no deployments have been made on the plan, you may request a full refund of the most recent subscription charge. Once any included credits or deploys have been used, or once the 7-day window has passed, the cooling-off refund no longer applies and cancellation follows the rules in Section 3.

Service Failures

If credits were deducted or a subscription charge was processed due to a verified platform error, system outage, or failed AI generation attributable to DontCode, we will restore the credits at no cost or refund the affected amount in full upon request.

2. Non-Refundable Cases

  • Credits that have already been consumed by AI generation, deployment, or other platform services
  • Refund requests made more than 7 days after the purchase date, for purchases where credits have been partially or fully consumed
  • Subscription charges where the 7-day cooling-off window has passed, or where any included credits or deploys have already been used (in this case, the cancellation rules in Section 3 apply instead)
  • Days remaining in a paid subscription period after a standard end-of-period cancellation β€” these are not prorated or refunded
  • Purchases made using promotional codes, signup bonuses, referral credits, or other non-cash credit grants (these have no monetary value)
  • Purchases where there is clear evidence of fraud, abuse, or violation of our Terms of Service

3. Subscription Cancellation

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from your account billing settings. We follow an end-of-period cancellation model:

  • When you cancel, your subscription remains active and you retain full access until the end of the current billing period
  • Auto-renewal is disabled at the time of cancellation and no further charges will be made
  • You may resume the subscription at any time before the period ends to undo the cancellation
  • Days remaining in the current billing period are not prorated or refunded β€” you keep the time you have already paid for
  • Included monthly credits granted at the start of the period remain available until the period ends, then expire at renewal time as usual
  • For full-refund eligibility within the first 7 days, see Section 1 (Subscription Cooling-Off)

DontCode currently offers monthly subscription plans only. If annual plans are introduced, refund terms specific to those plans will be added here.

4. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

Subscription cancellations can be initiated directly from your account billing settings and take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests (including 7-day cooling-off, partial credit refunds, and platform-fault refunds) must be submitted via email to our support team. Include your account email, the payment ID or receipt number, the amount requested, and the reason for the refund.

5. Refund Processing Timeline

  • Refund requests are reviewed within 3 business days of receipt
  • Approved credit card refunds are reversed to the original payment method within 3–7 business days, depending on the card issuer
  • Approved bank transfer and virtual account refunds are processed within 3 business days to the account provided by the customer
  • KakaoPay, NaverPay, and other easy-pay refunds typically complete within 1–3 business days via the original payment channel
  • International PayPal refunds complete within 5–10 business days

6. Disputes and Chargebacks

If you believe a charge on your account is incorrect or unauthorized, please contact us first so we can resolve the issue quickly. If you file a chargeback with your card issuer before contacting us, your account may be temporarily suspended pending resolution. We cooperate fully with card issuer investigations.

7. Consumer Protection

Korean consumers are protected under the Electronic Commerce Act (μ „μžμƒκ±°λž˜λ²•), which provides the right to withdraw from a contract within 7 days of purchase, subject to statutory exceptions for digital goods that have been used or consumed (Article 17). For continuous-service contracts (κ³„μ†κ±°λž˜), consumers also retain the right to terminate ongoing service. DontCode honors these rights in full: unused credits within 7 days are fully refundable, untouched subscriptions within 7 days are fully refundable, and any subscription can be cancelled at any time with access continuing through the end of the paid period.
