Connect your repo

A Backend Project can record which GitHub repository holds its code. The link is a fact about the project, nothing more: DontCode does not push to the repo, run its CI, or deploy it.

Why link it

  • The console shows the repository next to the project, so a teammate can find the code from the project page.
  • One repository can be linked to only one project, which stops two projects from silently sharing a key or a database by accident.

How it works

The Connected Repo page uses a GitHub App installation on your account or organization. Pick a repository from the list and press Link. Change or disconnect it from the same page at any time; disconnecting clears the record and touches nothing on GitHub.

Where DontCode fits

Everything about how the code is built and hosted stays in your repository and your host. The link exists so the project page can answer "where is the code?" without anyone asking.

Check your understanding

  1. 1.What changes in your repository when you link it?

  2. 2.You try to link a repository already linked to another project. What happens?

Your task

Backend Project

Open Connected Repo, pick the GitHub repository that holds your app, and press Link.
