Take payments

Payments on DontCode are three separate things: providers, a catalog, and a payout account. Keeping them apart is what makes the setup short.

Providers

KakaoPay, NaverPay, Toss Payments, and PayPal (for international, USD payments) are built in. The platform holds the merchant keys, verifies every payment confirmation on its servers, and handles refunds. There is no payment code in your app to write or maintain.

The catalog: plans and features

A plan is a priced tier: name, amount, currency (KRW by default), and interval. A feature is a named capability such as unlimited uploads. Plans grant features, with optional per-plan limits. Define both by asking Insight in the chat: "create a Free plan and a Pro plan at 9,900 won a month; Pro includes advanced reports."

Your app then asks one question, "does this user have this feature?", and shows or hides accordingly. That question is answered by the subscription, so it stays right when someone cancels.

The payout account

App Income shows revenue, transactions, and subscriptions, and its Payout account tab is where your bank account goes. Until a verified payout account exists, a checkout returns an error telling the buyer the app cannot accept payments yet.

Where DontCode fits

You define what is for sale and where the money goes. Provider onboarding, verification, receipts, renewals, and dunning emails are platform work. Branded receipts come from Branding, Email.

Check your understanding

  1. 1.A Pro subscriber cancels. Why does the Pro-only page close to them without any change to your app?

  2. 2.Checkout shows an error saying the app cannot accept payments yet. What is missing?

Your task

Insight Project

In the project chat, ask Insight to define at least one plan for your app (for example a Free plan and a paid monthly plan). The check passes once a new active plan exists.
