Setup steps

  1. 1

    Apply for Toss Payments

Apply for an online payment contract with Toss Payments, from 전자결제 신청 in the PortOne console or on tosspayments.com. Choose cards, bank transfer and the wallets you want, such as Toss Pay, Samsung Pay, Apple Pay and PAYCO.

  2. 2

Get your app ready for the card review

The card companies look at your live app before they approve it. Toss Payments asks for at least one product people can buy now, prices that match the charge, your delivery and refund policy, your business registration number, your 통신판매업 신고번호 and a customer contact. Ask Insight to add anything missing.

  3. 3

    Find your keys

Sign in to the Toss Payments developer center at developers.tosspayments.com and open 내 개발정보 → API 키. Note the 상점아이디 (MID), 클라이언트 키 and 시크릿 키 of your live store; live keys start with live_. Set the API version on the same screen to 2022-07-27.

  4. 4

Add a live channel in PortOne

In the PortOne console, open 결제 연동 → 연동 관리 → 채널 관리. Switch the mode to 실연동, pick 토스페이먼츠 and its payment module, and click 다음. Name the channel, enter the MID, 클라이언트 키 and 시크릿 키, choose 과세구분, and save.

  5. 5

    Copy the channel key

The channel shows in the list with its channel key, starting with channel-key-. Copy it.

  6. 6

    Selling subscriptions too

Ask Toss Payments to add recurring payments (자동결제) to your contract. Once they are approved, add a live channel for them the same way and copy its channel key too.

  7. 7

    Paste it into DontCode

In your project, open Payments → Connect and paste the channel key into Payment channel. For subscriptions, open More payment methods and paste the second key into Subscription channel. Click Connect.

A wallet is missing at checkout

A wallet shows only when your Toss Payments contract includes it. Ask Toss Payments to add it to your contract.

Card payments fail right after connecting

The card companies may still be reviewing your app. Toss Payments says the review takes up to 10 to 14 business days after the contract, and longer around holidays.

Payments fail with a key error

Check that the channel has the live keys (live_), not the test ones (test_), and that the API version in the developer center is 2022-07-27.

Trying it before the contract

Add a channel in 테스트 mode, as the main guide’s test step says. Wallets may not work with test keys.
