The problem this solves
Sign-ups live in a group chat, RSVPs in a poll nobody can find, and the head count in someone's head. On the day, half forget. One page for joining and answering, plus a reminder, keeps it simple.
What you end up with
A join page with the questions you want (name, year, major). Members sign in and see upcoming events; they tap Going or Not going, and you see the count and the list. Everyone going gets an email the day before with the time and place.
